International Day to End Violence Against Sex Worker

December 17 this year is the 4th International Day to End Violence Against Sex Worker. Sex worker organizations from different parts of the world will hold activity to commemorate those sex workers who have been bullied or killed and demand the respect of sex workers’ human rights. Zi Teng hosted an activity to mourn for the murdered sex workers and raise the general public’s concern for the safety of sex worker and stop any violence against sex workers. We marched to the Police Headquarters with volunteers and sex workers, and handed our protest letter to the police inspector. We also announced the 7 common police abuses against sex workers, with the Li Yuen-yee Incident the most unacceptable event in the view of the public.

On same day, Zi Teng joined the Anti-Racial Discrimination Protest. Though immigrants from Mainland China are not included in the proposed racial discrimination law, we strongly oppose to all kinds of racial discrimination. We believe that people of all ethnicity, class, gender, job, age, are entitled to basic human rights and dignity.
