Supporting Labor organizations and Metal Workers
We always believe that sex work is work and sex workers are labors. We thus often show concern and support on different labor issues and activities. Recently, we attended the conference hosted by AMRC (Asia Monitor Resource Center). On one hand, we could strengthen our knowledge in labor issues and consolidate our network with different labor concern groups and individuals On the other hand, we would like to celebrate for AMRC’s 30th anniversary.
In addition, we joined the demonstration with other social groups on 26 August to show our supports on the metal workers, who demanded for a stable daily salary at HK950 and shorter working hours (from 12 hours to 8 hours). In fact, sex workers are similar to metal workers. Both of them are often the family breadwinners, and both of them are from the grass-root level. Most of all, the biggest reason for sex workers to support metal workers is to show the unity and solidarity among labors.
